Street View 1 - Silkroad Legends Theme Park Concept Art

This is one of the Street Views I created. For this I had to do a looot of research about how things actually looked a long time ago. Then we had to throw it basically over board and make everything a bit more colorful and nice. I took an architectural "footprint" (a map) of that park and then created some box models of it in SketchUp. The palace in the back was already kind of defined in regards to the general appearance but I had to make a transition between different areas in China. Since the visitor travels through multiple countries along his journey we needed to create a feel of that. I did some kit bashing of roofs and such but for the most part the 3d was only used to get the actual dimensions in place and we realized quickly that the houses in the footprint were a bit too narrow since in China they are often arranged in a way you see here. The long side faces the street.
